Vitamin D and E intake according to the Korea National Health and Nutritional Survey(KNHANES)

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the consumption of vitamins D and E in the Republic of Korea. Food composition database for vitamins D and E was developed based on the 2016-2020 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). The 2020 KNHANES (¥·-2) was used to estimate the intake of vitamins D and E among Koreans. The mean vitamin D intake was 3.1 §¶, which was 31% of their adequate intake. The mean vitamin E intake was 6.5 mg ¥á-TE, which was 57% of their adequate intake. As both vitamin D and E intake among Koreans was insufficient compared to adequate intake, continuous monitoring and interest for vitamin D and E are deemed to be necessary.
